Perform Cellular Therapy product collections for patients and donors onsite at Michigan Blood and in surrounding areas hospitals. Provide administrative support to the Therapeutic Apheresis team.


  • Perform Autologous and Allogeneic (related and unrelated) Cellular Therapy product collections, which may include Hematopoietic Progenitor Cells (HPC) and Mononuclear Cell (MNC) product collections, according to SOPs, manufacturer  Operator Manuals, cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices), cGTP (current Good Tissue Practice), and all applicable standards per accreditation agencies.
  • Perform granulocyte product collections according to SOPs, manufacturer Operator Manuals, cGMP, cGTP, and all applicable standards per accreditation agencies.
  • Perform clinical testing/medication administration, such as TB testing, Hepatitis B vaccinations, Filgrastim screening and injections for NMDP (National Marrow Donor Program) donors.
  • Perform vein checks/phlebotomies as needed outside of collection.
  • Enter patient/donor billing and data entry into computer system.
  • Coordinate with supervisor and external agencies to schedule procedures.
  • Build charts for patients/donors prior to collection and file all patient/donor paperwork after procedure completion.
  • Coordinate supply movement from center to hospitals.
  • Manage QC (quality control) of equipment for department.
  • Provide coverage for Supervisor as needed.


  • Bachelor’s Degree, Associate’s Degree, or RN Diploma in Nursing required.
  • Valid Registered Nursing license required per designated state.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required for designated State and access to a vehicle.


  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse (2 years preferred).
  • One year apheresis or dialysis experience preferred.
  • Computer experience and/or management experience preferred.
