Under the direction of the Hospital Services Supervisors, is responsible for customer service, distribution, record keeping, SOP compliance and as applicable component preparation and testing.
  • Maintains regulatory compliance with established standards, practices, and regulations. As follow up to discrepancies, performs necessary adjustments to workflow to ensure compliance, seeks ways to improve standard work practices in order to be more effective in performing required tasks.
  • Performs required distribution functions for picking, packing, shipping, and returns of blood products following company guidelines and established SOP’s.
  • Receives and unpacks imported and other blood components in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Performs required additional product modification (Site dependent functions include but not limited to: irradiation, volume reduction, washed, frozen and deglycerolization).
  • Consults with Hospital Services Supervisor to brainstorm problems or develop new processes for continuous process improvement as well as assist with required validations.
  • Notifies and consults with manufacturer support staff to identify and resolve problems associated with equipment, supplies, or reagents in order to maintain smooth laboratory operation.
  • Performs second checks of component production and/or testing results for completeness and acceptability (lot release).
  • Notifies customer and other locations of delays and/or problems.
  • Performs required instrument quality control, maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • As qualified and required based on site functions, trains staff and assesses staff competency in component preparation.
  • Packs and ships frozen recovered plasma.
  • Provide stewardship of blood product components through monitoring of inventory levels, product selection, product outdating and notification and/or communication with appropriate staff or management in matters related to the blood component inventory or issue selection.

Full Time: 1st shift


High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associates Degree in health science is preferred. 



At least one year of laboratory or organization experience is preferred.
