Under the direction of the Donor Services Manager, is responsible for Training/Continuing Education/Competency in the Donor Services Department.
This educator covers the whole state of Michigan and will require over night stays. Time will be spent at mobile drives in addition to doing classroom work.

  •      Performs training, retraining, continuing education, in-services, and annual competencies.
  •      Assists with organizing the efforts of ancillary Education Assistants and trainees to ensure effective use of resources and education program. 
  •      Assists in education program development for Donor Services staff.  Able to prepare PowerPoint, oral, written and video presentations for training purposes. 
  •      Assists with developing and implementing education plans for new techniques, procedures, and process improvements.
  •      Assures training is appropriately documented and records maintained.
  •      Manages new employee orientation.
  •      Assist with internal audits.
  •      Performs error management resolution as related to post donation, discrepancy reporting, and quarantine.
  •      Collaborates with Regional Manager and other departments as applicable for Donor Services Education.
  •      Working knowledge of the duties of all Donor Services positions.
  •      Maintains competency in the basic duties of the Donor Care Specialist and Team Leader.
  •      Responsible for the education of Donor Services employees to provide a high level of customer service that is embedded into the culture of Michigan Blood.
  •      Utilize phone and company email as an  expected means of professional communication.
  •      Basic duties of Donor Care Specialist and Team Leaders.

Education

·         Associate Degree preferred. Healthcare background with education preferred.

·         Training experience or certificate in education preferred.

·         Prior phlebotomy experience desired, but not required. 


Experience

·         5 years relevant experience  preferred

·         2-3 years of Michigan Blood experience is preferred but not required.

·         Healthcare field experience is preferred.
